I would like to start with a little praise, this model is
dedicated to one of the inspiration sources in my days as a novice in 3D, Mark Kane,
thanks dude. Now my Narn collection is finished, with a model i been
wanted to do since the very first time i saw it, but choose not to duo by respect to the
previous GQuan modeller; Mark Kane. This is the person that made me jump over from
3dStudio to LW in my early days, i was so eager to play with his superb models, since i
couldn't make anything similar at the time. I remember when i first downloaded the GQuan
from B5MG, back in the old days when Alex took care of B5MG, it had a layout(!) and a
complete index of various b5 models etc etc, i said to my self that; this person must be a
God or something... the model was excellent, one of the finest meshes around, and that was
1998...
Now almost 3years later i decided to give the old GQuan a try, one of the main
reasons why i made it- was because that Mark's G'Quan had inaccurate propositions
according to the B5:ITF game schematics, so i saw a reason why i should make it, cuz i
always thought that his was as good as it gets- so i never saw the reason why another clone
was needed, till now... I started upon modelling it, the mesh was complete
during a period of 3 days, estimated time of modelling was about 20hours, the textures
were created later over a weekend, and were tweaked a little some days later, but turned
out very satisfied, at least for me :)
You might find this model a little bit more detailed than what you see in the
serie's, allot of extra pipelines where created along with some construction details.
After a discussion with Lars Joretag we came forward to that, the GQuan had turrets based
upon some early episodes of B5. So i stared to create them, and their is 3 up and down in
the front section and 2 turrets in the rear. I also included a blue camouflage map, for we
know that the Narns more or less uses various colors on their ships, not every narn ship
is red.. and if your a Lightwave6.x user you can simply change the camouflage color by
[Editing] the [Hue], in the [Image Editor] in Layout.
Well... i hope that you have fun with playing with this model as much as i had
in creating it. |
